Everything I See Will Outlive Me brings together the two-part retrospective comprising Everything I See Will Outlive Me, held at Sala Alcalá 31, and In the Violet Hour at Museo Centro de Arte Dos de Mayo, both organised to mark the 70th anniversary of Juan Muñoz’s birth.
The publication features essays by Gloria Moure and Manuel Segade, alongside a collection of interviews that brings the artist’s own voice to the fore and spans the full arc of his career. It also includes previously unpublished material—an early interview with Richard Serra and pages from Muñoz’s notebooks—making it an essential resource for future interpretations of his work.
No Spanish artist in recent decades had achieved the same degree of international recognition as Muñoz, whose remarkable career unfolded in a brief but intense period between his first exhibition in 1984 and his untimely death.
