“COME HERE…” SAYS THE CARPET TO THE CEILING
PROJECT- WORKSHOP FOR PUPILS FROM BEATO SIMON DE ROJAS SCHOOL WITH LILLI HARTMANN
ACADEMIC YEAR 2011 – 2012
This workshop is embedded within the line of long-term works that the Center develops with educational spaces, especially those of its immediate surroundings, with the intention of strengthening partnerships with different agents. In “Come here…” says the carpet to the ceiling, it will be explored the notion of “point of view”. Making use of performance and acting games will help the children to discover their own potential to create characters and narrative structure. Throughout the sessions, diverse examples of Art History and historic events will be introduced in a playful manner, including some excursions. By working actively with the imagination, body and voice, these events take a "new life" and personal dimension. The workshop objective is to create with the group a final play, which will be represented at the end of the project. This workshop has been created by Lilli Hartmann, who emerges out of estrangement for our surrounding through mechanism of our childhood as games, costumes or storytelling with the objective to provoke a creative eye of all that surrounds us. She frequently uses her own body in humor-filled actions that manage to disrupt the spaces in which operate and the people who participate.
