4 - 8 JULY
17:00 — 21:00

To bring the school year to a close, UHF has invited the artist Pablo Serret de Ena to run a summer workshop based on trial and error. We have always been taught to distinguish between what’s right and what’s wrong. We have tried to reap success and avoid failure. But, is it possible to invert this logic? Over the course of five days and one night spent in the museum, we will come together to amass failures, to embrace the epic fail and to turn the beauty of the imperfect on its head. We will carry out trials in order to make errors, because if you never take a risk you will never fail, and if you never fail you will never learn; and without learning, life cannot be lived to the full. And any repeated error can become a rhythm.

We will be looking at such disparate references as Bas Jan Ader and the Coyote and Roadrunner and we will work somewhere between a lo-fi Goldberg machine and the adolescent politics of the park. We will explore the good side of doing things wrongly, and if that is not enough, we will sleep under the stars while we imagine throwing stones at the Black Future. Because, at the end of the day, we are all Coyotes.

Pablo Serret de Ena combines all kinds of genres and disciplines (video, installation, sound, publishing, photography and even graphic design) in his projects which explore themes such as marginality, identity, power and disobedience, daily politics, transitioning and, of course, error.

Aimed at young people between the age of 16 and 21 years
