THU 09th JUL

19:30 H. and 21:00 H.

Luz develops a situational practice, premised on specific interventions of a performative nature. Based on the conditions of a place - architectonic elements and infrastructure, organizational structures, regulations and protocols, historical or recent events - she proposes minimal operations of displacement which, during the process of taking place, can set in play the constrictions and complexities of the framework they are inscribed into.

19:30 H. and 21:00 H.

Intervention: CIRCUMSTANCE
A Folded Path are two pedestrian speaker symphonies, soundtracks for cities, carried through the streets by a participating audience, experienced by everyone it passes. Comprising thirty, custom-built, location sensitive portable loudspeakers each playing a different element of the music Circumstance have composed. The audience, divided into groups, takes different routes through the city, coming together at certain points to create moments of harmony and resonance between them. The GPS position of the speaker causes different sections of the composition to be played, so the structure of the work resonates with the environments it passes through. The speakers are highly directional so the movement of the people within the group changes the acoustic relationship between them. The audience becomes the orchestra.

For this project, Circumstance will be represented by Sarah Anderson, Duncan Speakman, and Emilie Grenier.

22:00 H. Gastronomic Map: COOKING SECTIONS

The logic, or the perversion, of the notion of origin has been related to different economic imaginaries and regimes; to such an extent, that it is no longer possible to discern who constructs who, what constructs who, who is born where... if it ever was otherwise. The invention of the Mediterranean Coast will be served in the form of a mezclamapa so that we can all taste together the legal scope of different spatial visions of the landscapes of power.

Cooking Sections (Daniel Fernández Pascual & Alon Schwabe) is a duo of spatial professionals, born at the Center for the Research of Architecture, Goldsmiths. It was born to explore the systems that organize the WORLD through FOOD. Through the use of installations, performances, mapping and video, their practice, based on research, explores the limits of the overlapping of the visual arts, architecture, and geopolitics.
