CA2M Centro de Arte Dos de Mayo

Agua de borrajas is a joint project run by CA2M’s education department and the ROMA printers. They tell us that: “Now everything is borage. All that we thought we couldn’t see until we saw it. It’s that feeling you get when you recognise something. Imagining that an idea or a movement ends up in agua de borrajas (literally ‘borage water’, a Spanish expression meaning something like “it came to nothing”) excites us because it is a movement that we are suddenly made to see, not through deduction or boring logic games, but because we share it with someone else and it is all about how long this coupling lasts.” “Last year, two projects fell into those waters. We have been giving a lot of thought to amateurs and amateurness, and one of the things we learned is that we have a lot of collector friends. We have visited them at home, seen their objects and spoken about their dérives. During the second year at the Universidad Popular we will give you a printed copy of those meetings.” “Now we want to meet the residents at Acento, working with research into the performing arts between CA2M and La Casa Encendida, and to move to their rhythm, to see what it is like, so that at the beginning of the coming year we can accompany your show with our wave.” “After that we want to keep doing things with the department, to see what they are up to, to spend some time with them, listen to what they have to say.”
