WORKSHOP WITH THE I.E.S. ANTONIO GALA SCHOOL
During a school term, we produced an audio-visual production workshop with students from the 4th diversification grade at I.E.S. Antonio Gala School in Móstoles. Once a week, the CA2M educators, together with artist María Rogel, would visit the school in order to develop a collective audio-visual project. The main goal of this workshop is not so much the experience of shooting an audio-visual piece, as to generate a collective experience around video; to stimulate the capacity to observe our context, and to endow everyday reality with new meanings.
Throughout this term, we will work with the notion of remake, premised on our own film referents, in order to engage with dislocation and the contestation of an already established narrative. The work of María Rogel "Lapor" is situated in the junction between video, film, and dance. She develops her creative work in the fields of video and photography, and specializes in the video-essay format. She carries out a research practice on the limits of genres and film references/homages/
adaptations. In 2013, she began the project BE.SO.MELO (Dramatic Project), about the recuperation of melodrama.
