EVERYTHING SHE TELLS YOU IS GOING TO BE WORSE
10 NOVEMBER – 20 JUNE 2019
EVERY SECOND THURSDAY
17:00 – 20:00
Two years ago, after the Vaster than Empires and More Slow group was brought to a close, we exchanged grafts and started planning the following reading group called Delicious Monster. The grafts created a kind of continuity between texts and plant, the library and the home, human time and plant time. A few weeks ago some of them spouted new shoots, speaking of the underground network that binds them together.
We wish to defend these united parts, because we believe that something that characterises the beauty of the monstrous could perhaps have to do with the fragmentary, the hybrid and the lack of correlation between parts; with exquisite corpses, patchwork and collage; with cutting and pasting, cooking and sewing, transforming material, alchemy, and concoctions. Maybe reading in group has also something to do with all this. Witches, spaceships, mermaids, extra-terrestrials, bearded women, time travel …
We wish to celebrate this slow and monstrous organism, to gather together readings and learnings from over these two years so that, between all of us, we can propose a new journey, a drift, with readings chosen and presented by participants of the groups and with an open invitation to add new accomplices.
Every time we will tell worse things.
The group is moderated by Tamara Díaz Bringas
The only requisite for taking part is to have read the texts before each session and to take part with a participative spirit.
